During the women’s Royal Rumble match today, Zelina Vega caught the attention of many gaming fans around the world.

Vega, real name Thea Trinidad, was the twentieth entrant in the match and she would pay tribute to the Street Fighter franchise with her entrance.

The 28-year-old WWE wrestler and manager came out wearing a Vega mask, as well as a replica of the character’s trademark long metal claw.

“Zelina Vega dressed as Street Fighter's Vega [and it] is the best thing that happened in this women's Royal Rumble edition,” one user wrote on Twitter.

Another tweeted: “Zelina Vega came out cosplaying Vega from Street Fighter. That’s f****n' awesome.”

A third said: “Zelina Vega came to the rumble dressed as Vega from Street Fighter... what are these warm feelings my heart has?”

A fourth added: “Zelina Vega dressed as a female Vega from Street Fighter has me perking up.”

It’s not the first time that Trinidad has shown her love for popular culture. Over on her Instagram account, she has cosplayed as Catwoman and Mortal Kombat’s Jade.

In one of her most recent posts, she posed alongside fellow WWE superstar Andrade as Team Rocket’s Jessie and James from the Pokémon franchise.

Publisher 2K Sports released its latest installment in the long-running WWE franchise, WWE 2K19, last year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Hardcore Gamer’s review for the title called it the “best series offering of this generation.”

Our reviewer added: “With the Daniel Bryan Showcase, the narrative-based Career Mode and the 2K Towers to keep players coming back, these should answer the previous cries from fans that the games got boring.

“On top of that, WWE 2K19 offers the best visuals in the series and possibly the best player models in any sports game to date.”
