Best Multiplayer

Call of Duty: Ghosts

If there’s a game that deserves to be singled out for its multiplayer, it’s Call of Duty: Ghosts. Alas, we showered both the current and next gen versions of the game with praise, but it wasn’t for the single player campaign. While that portion of the game is serviceable, it’s far from remarkable and not reason enough to purchase the game. What is remarkable, however, is the game’s multiplayer. We played nearly fifty hours of it before release and triple that after it. It doesn’t reinvent itself, it’s not all that different upon first glance from the previous few games in series, but that’s not the point. The point is to create a solid FPS multiplayer, which is what Infinity Ward did in Ghosts. Everything is just so refined and feels good to play. Framerate is great, aiming feels fluid, maps are expertly designed and the new modes are the most addictive the series has seen. It may not be the most innovative experience, but it’s an immensely enjoyable one.
