Anybody who had a Nintendo GameCube back in 2006 played Chibi-Robo! Plug Into Adventure!  You play as Chibi-Robo, a little robot given to a young girl by her father, and the purpose was to fully charge a robot that was left in the basement.  It doesn’t sound like an interesting game, but like most underground titles, it boomed and sold a whopping 96,879 copies in Japan by the end of its first year.  After the release of the first installment, skip Ltd. released a second one titled Chibi-Robo! Park Patrol that was also well received by fans and critics spanning a third game that was released as an exclusive to Japan titled Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! Happy Richie Ōsōji!.  Chibi-Robo did see a third installment on the 3DS known as Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder that focused mainly on the 3DS's augmented reality capabilities and wasn't recognized as a full installment, which finally brings us to Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash!.

Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash! will continue the Chibi-Robo lineage in what looks to be the cutest addition yet.  Beginning with the packaging, consumers can choose between the regular retail copy of the game for $29.99 USD or the amiibo bundle copy for $39.99 in which Chibi-Robo joins other Nintendo characters as an amiibo.  While this amiibo can be used in the game, Zip Lash! also supports fifty-six other amiibos that can be used to get coins when they are tapped on the New Nintendo 3DS, (or the NFC reader).  Chibi-Robo’s amiibo will allow him to change into Super Chibi Robo as well as use a Toy Capsule Machine to unlock in-game collectibles.  Super Chibi-Robo turns him into a golden version of himself that gives him the ability to move faster and have a longer range with his cord and plug and leveling up the amiibo will unlock special characters in-game.

Differing from the previous installments with its lack of cleaning and performing helpful tasks, this one plays as a platformer where he can utilize his plug to whip enemies and swing across platforms.   You can use your plug to reach hidden areas and solve puzzles to gain collectibles and find secret areas.  Not only will Chibi-Robo be using his cord and plug to get from place to place, but will be wakeboarding for items and skateboarding through levels.  Chibi-Robo will also be able to get different power-ups similar to Super Mario in order to breeze through stages and attack your enemies with only a touch.  But, like most platformers, you also have to fight some end-level bosses in order to proceed, challenging your abilities as Chibi-Robo in this new type of adventure.
