While there were a couple of new announcements yesterday, it's safe to say that Microsoft's presentation at Gamescom was focused for the most part around games we already knew about, complete with trailers we'd already seen, despite showing off some limited edition varieties to both the Xbox One S as well as the upcoming Xbox One X. But fans of the RTS genre could very well describe one of today's more recent announcements as a notable high as the next game in the popular Age of Empires series has been confirmed to be in development by Relic Entertainment.

However, for those fans who haven't upgraded to Microsoft's latest OS, the news has come with a bit of a bitter pill to swallow as it's speculated that the game will be fully exclusive to Windows 10 PC's and may not be available on other digital retailers, notably Steam. While Relic didn't offer any gameplay footage of what they're working on, a teaser trailer they've put out to coincide with the announcement, suggests the upcoming entry to the series will certainly be looking to focus on a myriad of time periods.
