Dice have revealed that the Battlefield 1 open beta is set to kick off soon, and have released a new trailer and tons of new info about the game.
The Battlefield 1 open beta will kick off August 31 and be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Origin. Those who are Battlefield Insider members, or sign up before August 21, will get early access to the beta, though EA and Dice did not reveal when Insiders will get it. Codes will be sent out closer to the beta’s beginning.
The beta will include the Sinai Desert map, which Dice shows off in the trailer below. It’s a rather large map that allows for different types of play styles. The village of Bir el Mazar is excellent for infantry skirmishes, and the majestic cliffs make dogfighting feel fast and exhilarating. For the team that’s losing, a powerful Behemoth (deadly armored train seen in the trailer) will swoop in with reinforcements.
Finally, players can test out two of Battlefield 1’s game modes:
- Conquest – The classic Battlefield game mode with up to 64 players vying for control over objectives
- Rush – The fan-favorite 24 player mode returns. Attackers attempt to plant charges on the defending force’s Telegraph Posts. Successfully destroying them will push the defending team farther back. The defenders must disarm these charges and keep their Posts safe
Battlefield 1 is out October 21 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and October 18 for those that purchase the $80 Early Enlister Edition. Dice did not announce how long the open beta will run.
