In a surprise move, one of the leading PC hardware manufacturers, best known for their keyboards, cases and memory, has purchased arguably the biggest streaming/video game capture company on the planet. Corsair has announced today that they have reached an agreement to acquire Munich Germany-based company Elgato Gaming for an undisclosed amount.

This makes a lot of sense considering the gaming focused direction of Corsair. It's more surprising that Elgato was looking to offload their gaming division considering they seemed to have dominance in the market. Elgato Systems will now be known as Eve Systems and focused on smart home accessories.

With devices such as the Elgato Stream Deck and their latest 4K60 Pro, Corsair looks to take over the gaming market when it comes to streaming.
