Steam has long since been a great place to pick up new and interesting video games for PC, but that's not all it's good for. Ever since the addition of the software category we've seen game development tools made available to the masses.

The Japanese game-making software Smile Game Builder is poised to launch on Steam on September 8. Developer SmileBoom Co., Ltd. originally put the software on Greenlight back in April and it was fortunately greenlit in good time.

Programming is not required to get started creating your own stuff in Smile Game Builder, though it's probably a huge help if you do understand some programmatic concepts.
