Considering that Capcom's latest installment in their popular zombie-filled open-world franchise, Dead Rising 4, has Frank West returning to a doomed Willamette Memorial Megaplex Mall during the Christmas season to tackle a new outbreak, it would only make sense that both they and Microsoft would be using the season to promote the game in some festive ways. While their previous "Zombie Christmas Carol" was, um, sort of a misstep, their latest offerings are more enjoyable. For starters, in addition to the release of the official soundtrack with the help of Sumthing Else Music Works, you can receive a free twelve-song sampler of Christmas music from the game by going to Sumthing Else here and entering the code "dr42016" (without quotation marks, of course).

The sampler will be free until December 2, when the full soundtrack, consisting of over four hours of music including an original score from Oleksa Lozowchuk, will be released on various music sites for a discounted price of $9.99. To help promote the sampler a little and set the mood even more, Xbox also released a twenty-minute yule log video for the game, which you can check out below. You know all about those yule log videos TV channels show during Christmas to simulate a cozy fireplace, right? Well, Frank West has his own version, albeit it with the actual logs swapped out for...well, exactly what you'd expect. Hopefully this gets everyone in the mood for Dead Rising 4, which hits Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on December 6.
