Eidos Montreal has reassured PC fans that the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will not be a straight port of the console version.

The developer was recently at New York Comic-Con, where a PC fan posed a question concerning the version's quality. He noted recent examples, like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, where the PC version felt like a straight up port from PS4 and Xbox One.

The team replied, calling console ports on PC "disrespectful" to the platform's community, and promised that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will not fall into the trap. Overall, Eidos Montreal is working to make the game feel at home no matter what platform you invest your time and money into. For the PC, Eidos is planning multiple things that will allow users to really enjoy the experience on that platform. Unfortunately, they couldn't provide details, but promised that we will get them in the near future.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the latest entry in the Deus Ex franchise. and takes place following the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Originally set to release in February, the game was delayed to August 26 to further polish the title. Hopefully this gives Eidos Montreal enough time to perfect the PC version.
