Celebrated role-playing game Dragon Age: Inquisition hasn't had very much by way of story-based downloadable content since its launch last year. But not to leave its fans in the dark, developer BioWare has seen fit to instead plunge them into the depths with "The Descent", a story-based single player DLC expansion taking place in the Dragon Age universe's hazardous Deep Roads.

For the non-Thedosians, the Deep Roads are an underground series of tunnels, cities, and well... roads, that were built by the ancient dwarves. Way before the events of the first Dragon Age game, the Deep Roads were plunged into chaos by an unending infestation of Dragon Age's orc-equivalent: the Darkspawn. As a result, the Deep Roads are filled with monsters, mysteries, and abandoned cities from the past, which made it strange that players were not quite able to see very much of it previously in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Fans craving more tainted spelunking will want to grab The Descent which is out today on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for $15. A new patch is also live for the game that is meant to coincide with this DLC release and also add a new character to the multiplayer mode.
