Techland today dropped the official release date for Dying Light 2 and confirmed the game is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

After more than a year of silence, Techland today dropped a trove of new information and a new gameplay trailer for Dying Light 2. The developer also confirmed that the game is coming to next-gen consoles in addition to the previously announced PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions.

Dying Light 2 picks up 20 years after the events of Dying Light. Mankind has lost the war to the Harran Virus following the escape of a variant during Christmas 2021. The story starts long after the apocalypse during a new Dark Age. You play as Aidan Caldwell, a Pilgrim traveling through The City, the last bastion of humanity, in search of someone from his past. During Dying Light 2, players will make choices and alliances that shape their Aidan.

Gameplay focuses heavily on stealth, melee combat, and parkour. Players will utilize the verticality of The City to get around, sneak up on enemies, and make daring escapes. Meanwhile, when fighting enemies, players can use a variety of different melee weapons and crafted weapons to defeat a wide array of human and Infected enemies.

Dying Light 2 launches December 7 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
