During today's E3 Digital Event, Nintendo finally announced a brand new Metroid game in the form of Metroid Prime: Federation Force. Set in the Metroid Prime universe, but without any sign of series protagonist Samus, the game features 4-player co-op mission and also includes the subgame Metroid Prime: Blast Ball, which debuted at the Nintendo World Championships.

Metroid Prime Federation Force is slated for a 2016 release. Check out the announcement trailer below:
