Former developers of the F.E.A.R. and No One Lives Forever franchises have officially announced their Seattle-based independent studio, Blackpowder Games, and with it, their first upcoming project. True to their past, this is an first person "shooter" with a stylized visual art style, but because it will be set in England during the early 17th century, the focus will be on older weaponry such as bows, crossbows, throwing axes and even muskets.

The game's official name is Betrayer and will feature supernatural elements such as ghosts and other mysteries. Shockingly enough, Betrayer will be out quite soon: next week. Blackpowder Games will be publishing the title through Steam Early Access on August 14, not giving the game very much marketing time. Regardless, we need more visually inspiring game such as this.
