If you've been following any of the latest string of Pokémon games, you'll notice that Nintendo's marketing has often lent itself to focusing on the younger generation and crowd of gamers who may just be getting into the series for the first time. Possibly at the expense of those who've been fans of the series since its very first incarnation on the Game Boy Color. Well it looks like one fan -- along with a passionate group of people -- has made it his duty to capture the real beating heart of the Pokémon community.

A fan-made commercial, directed by John Wikstrom, has been making some rather emotional waves on the web as of late. The short-but-sweet one-minute video reflects one particular fan's time playing Pokémon Red -- as well as the first wave of trading cards -- as a kid, before flashing-forward to adult state, despite his daily life, still showing a keen interest in the series with the upcoming release of Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon. It's a simple-but-effective pull on the heart-strings and one many, it seems, empathize with. Check it out below and see what you think. Here's hoping Nintendo have the heart not to claim copyright on this rather effective form of free advertisement.
