Far Cry 4 and contest winner Will Cruz have taken gaming to new heights, literally. Cruz has played Far Cry 4 at 18,560 feet above sea level, setting a new Guinness World Record for highest console gameplay ever.

Why is this important? It's not. It's just weird mixed with a little bit of awesome. It's like climbing Everest and then drinking a beer or juggling oranges -- it's just cool. The official title for the record is "Guinness World Record for Highest Altitude Videogame Console Session."

Cruz, a 23 year old young lad from Provo, Utah, won Ubisoft's "Quest for Everest: The Gaming Journey of a lifetime" contest identifying the ultimate Far Cry gamer. Along the way Cruz visited Kathmandu, Nepal; Khumjung Monastery, the Khumbu Glacier, and the Ubisoft Base Camp at Mt. Everest.

Cruz and a company of 15 others set out for Kala Patthar at the base of Mt. Everest and played Far Cry 4 for a total of 79 minutes, battling wind gusts up to 25 mph and temperatures dropping from 26 - 17 degrees. You can check the journey out here.

Contain whatever sweltering envy you may have and explore Far Cry 4 when it releases November 18, 2014 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
