When my Twitter feed mentioned that there was a new Far Cry announced, my indifference was almost tangible. Of course a new one would get made. The obviousness of a new one was remarkable in its unremarkableness. (It’s a word now. I called it.) That was before I saw what was being done.
Set back during the prehistoric Mesolithic era, this new entry will task players with surviving by hunting and gathering, supporting their tribe and keeping rival tribes at bay. The behind-the-scenes teaser does state that some liberties were taken with movement and whatnot, due to holes in our knowledge, but it is intended to be representative of the challenges our ancestors faced. This alone is intriguing. Plus, hunting mammoths is vastly more interesting than hunting currently endangered species. Check out the teaser below:
