Square Enix have finally announced the long-rumored PC version of Final Fantasy XV.

Square Enix, in recent years, have worked to expand their PC portfolio by bringing past Final Fantasy games to the platform. For that reason, it was puzzling why Final Fantasy XV was not originally announced for PC, and why the company didn't want to discuss a potential port. Finally, after nine months since the release of the game on PS4 and Xbox One, Square Enix has finally announced the game is coming to PC.

Dubbed the Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition, the PC version of the game will feature all the cutting-edge graphical techniques that only a PC could provide. As such, Square Enix is teaming up with Nvidia to give owners of those graphics cards extra options. The game will make full use of Nvidia GameWorks technology, including Flow, HairWorks, ShadowWorks, and Turf Effects.

“With the help of Nvidia, we are creating a stunning visual experience in Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition, one worthy of this beloved franchise,” said Hajime Tabata, Director of Final Fantasy XV. “Nvidia pushes the pace of innovation in our industry, and that benefits gamers and developers alike.”

Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition is out early 2018 on Steam, Origin, and Windows 10 Store. The game is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One.
