Thanks to Roystan Ross you can now enjoy Super Mario 64 in glorious HD from the comfort of you browser.

Ross recreated the first level of Mario 64 using the Unity engine and has even made it available for others to use and recreate other levels. Unfortunately, however, Ross himself doesn't plan on developing this any further or making updates.

"I currently do not have any plans to develop this any further or to resolve any bugs, unless they’re horrendously gamebreaking and horrendously simple to fix. This project is provided as-is, and you are free to use it for any purposes you like, with the exception of selling it for profit. All included code libraries’ previous licences still apply."

If you wanna give the game a go you can play here from Ross' blog and if you have a controller you can plug into your PC it supports gamepads. Ross has tested it with the Xbox One, Xbox 360, DualShock 3 and DualShock 4 controllers. If for some reason you use one and it doesn't work, he would like for you to post a comment telling him what's going on, and if you use a gamepad not listed, he would like to know if it worked.

If you don't want to play it in your browser and would prefer to download it you can also do so from Ross' blog right below the link to play in your browser. The desktop version is playable on Windows, Mac and Linux.
