The PVP Fortnite game mode with a hundred players, Battle Royale, gets a new map update to include new biomes, a new city, and new areas to find. For those unfamiliar, the Battle Royale mode closely resembles a massive competitive multiplayer area popularized by PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. In essence, it's a huge map where players spawn, gear up, find each other, and fight to the last one standing. Fortnite's Battle Royale mode does this while keeping Fortnite's building mechanics intact -- leading to situations where players build, well... forts, while engaging enemy players. The latest map update allows for more variety in terrain, meaning a more varied tactical landscape, more to do, and just generally more to look at. Likewise, the update is set to include other tweaks like bug fixes and changes to how the level is loaded to ensure better performance.

See the trailer for the new map update below. Fortnite - Battle Royale's new update is live today. Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
