Is it still possible to put a unique spin on post-apocalyptic worlds these days? Some may argue it isn't, but damned if Funcom and Sweden-based developers Bearded Ladies aren't going to try with their latest title, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. Set in a world where nuclear weapons were used in armed combat for the first time in decades, the tactical adventure game sees the rise of the mutants as some of them attempt to search for the legendary Eden, including the likes of a talking crossbow-wielding duck, as seen in the header.

If you're curious about the "tactical adventure" label, it's because the team at Bearded Ladies felt in was the best way to describe their blend of XCOM-style blend of tactical combat and deep, branching storylines (with a little stealth gameplay thrown in for good measure). As the cinematic reveal trailer below shows, it also has a snappy sense of humor as well to help back up its interesting character designs and premise. Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is due out for PC, XB1, and PS4 later in 2018, and while we don't have any gameplay footage right now, we do have an quick assortments of screenshots that you can also check out below. The first live gameplay will also be shown off at GDC 2018, so stay tuned for our potential first impressions in the next couple of months.
