SquareEnix and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment tonight announced Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, a brand new full-length CG film that has some major talent.

Kingsglaive takes place alongside the events of Final Fantasy XV. The menacing empire of Niflheim has launched an all out assault on the Insomnia, the capital of the kingdom of Lucis, in order to capture the last Crystal in the world. King Regis and his Kingsglaive, an elite force of soldiers, must continue the fight as Noctis formulates a plan outside the city walls.

Square Enix has landed some rather major talent. Game of Thrones stars Lena Heady (Cersei Lannister) and Sean Bean (Eddard "Ned" Stark) play Princess Lunafreya (Luna) Nox Fleuret and King Regis respectively. In addition, Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul plays Nyx, a member of Regis' Kingsglaive. At this point, it is unknown if the actors will reprise their roles in the main game.

Final Fantasy XV is set for release on September 30 for PS4 and Xbox One. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will release sometime before the main game's September launch as a digital download or as a stream.
