Five years after its initial release, a new Easter egg in developer Epic Games’ critically acclaimed Gears of War 3 has been discovered.

YouTuber GoW TacCom uploaded a step-by-step tutorial video, which is posted below, for the Easter egg (via Gears of War Subreddit).

Dubbed the ‘Locust Duck Hunt,’ the Easter egg is triggered in House of Sand, the second chapter of the second act in the campaign, by shooting three coins hidden on trees.

Should all of the requirements for the Locust Duck Hunt be met, players will be transported to a new area that is effectively a Locust-themed shooting range. Players are rewarded with different weapons depending on how many Locust they're able to kill.

The next main installment in the Gears of War franchise, Gears of War 4, will launch worldwide on October 11 for Xbox One.

Recently, developer The Coalition unveiled the debut trailer for Horde 3.0, as well as the announcement that Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi would be working on Gears of War 4’s score.
