A 30-minute movie based on the story of Ubisoft's upcoming Ghost Recon Wildlands will be premiering on Twitch and Amazon Prime on February 16, and the company released the first trailer for the film today to give us a sense of what it's all about.

In it, we meet our antagonist, El Sueño, the heavily tattooed leader of the Santa Blanca Cartel, who runs Bolivia as a narco-state. He and all of the corrupt people in the country are making the people run drugs, and with all of this opportunity, there are some who would take his title. The movie will take place right before the events of the game, and is meant to give players some context to the organization they are dealing with.

Speaking on the realism of both the game and the movie, Executive Producer Roberto Orci (Transformers (2007) and Star Trek (2010)) said, "Drug cartels have become an incredibly hot topic in both real-world news and pop culture entertainment. We pride ourselves in making sure that the characters, action and environment of War Within The Cartel looks and feels like something ripped right from the headlines."

War Within The Cartel was made in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video. It was directed by Avi Youabian. Watch the premiere on Ubisoft's Twitch channel.
