Managing one successful city in your average city-building game can be tough enough, but what about trying to manage one that's being tormented by a constant rain? Or more than one of them? Or even just one with roguelike elements in play, for that matter? Such is the case with Against the Storm, Eremite Games' fantasy city-building simulation where players attempt to rebuild the Smoldering City, the only safe shelter against the vicious blightstorm ravaging things. The game was released in Early Access last year on the Epic Games Store to a positive reception from players and has apparently caught the eye of Hooded Horse as well, who will now be publishing the game, set to come out later this year.

The announcement was accompanied by a repost of the Early Access launch trailer, which you can check out below if you haven't seen it already. Not only do you have to build appropriate settlements, workplaces, supply chains and more while keeping each fantasy race happy, you also have to deal with the wrath of the forest itself as you potentially go to far in harvesting it for resources. Fail, and its back to square one as the Viceroy of the Scorched Queen, trying yet again to successfully rebuild it all for her. Against the Storm is looking at a Q4 2022 release at the moment, when the storm will hit Steam and GOG in addition to the Epic Games Store.
