Best known for Hegemony, a series of historical strategy games, Toronto-based developers Longbow Games are now branching out in what appears to be a big way with Golem, described as an adventure/puzzle game about a girl who comes across the titular mysterious creature and sets out a journey with them. The game was first announced back in 2017, but the first gameplay trailer has now been revealed, which you can naturally check out below.

Set in a fantasy coastal town that has recently been having difficulty obtaining water, our young protagonist comes across a glowing orb in a small water supply one day, with the door to the giant tower that supposedly once had flowing aqueducts suddenly open. Heading inside, the golem is activated and now the two set out to activate the tower's machinery.

The clip does a nice job showing off the game's style, puzzles and shape-shifting abilities of our ancient friend, so here's hoping Golem's final version ends up being just as good when it comes out this Spring for the PC.
