In a world without people, there are still human conflicts. The versatile, humanoid androids of NieR: Automata do battle on a wasteland Earth in grand scales and ridiculous proportions. That said, the futuristic and dilapidated aesthetic essentially serves the action in Automata, but with a female lead character and possibly an interesting tale of machines still serving a human-oriented purpose in a world... without them. While there does not seem to be organic humans present in Automata, that isn't to say the androids themselves don't hurt like people, nor that they don't dream of electric sheep.
