In celebration of the 30 year anniversary of Capcom’s blue bomber, Mega Man, it will be releasing all of its Mega Man X games in two collections. Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 will feature all eight games with the option to improve the visuals for each title. The ‘X’ series differed from the original series as it took advantage of the Super Nintendo hardware. It included large scale bosses and character upgrades as it stuck to the original formula of defeating bosses and using their weapons to defeat the other foes. Rather than having Dr. Wily as a protagonist, the ‘X’ series featured Sigma. The series also had an ally with Zero, who would be a prominent character for other series’ going forward. The series would transition from the Super Nintendo to the PlayStation and PS2. Both collections will be available digitally or with a two-disc physical bundle. A new X Challenge mode that will put X against two bosses from various games at once will be included with the collection. The games will release on July 24 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Check out the trailer below.
