Deep underground are the remains of four giants who once kept the islands safe.  While the giants are long dead the machinery inside them still performs the important task of protection, but they've been running for a long time and everything breaks down eventually.  Fortunately the young engineer Mo found the Omin-Switch, which is a staff capable of repairing the machines if she can just get down to them.  This requires, of course, visiting every island in the archipelago, interacting with the people who live there, and solving the puzzles that block the way down in a beautifully drawn 2D animated platformer-adventure.  The islands have many secrets in their past, and whatever it was the giants knew is nowhere near as buried in history as would be comfortable.

Minute of Islands surprise-launched today as part of the E3 festivities for the Future Games Show, releasing on PC, Switch, and the PlayStation consoles.  Xbox is two days off, June 15, but everything else is available immediately.  Now if you'll excuse me, there's a pitched battle in the Hardcore Gamer editor's room as to who gets to review this and I need to find my mini-nuke.
