Monster Hunter: World Received a Massive Video Feature at TGS

Anyone looking forward to Monster Hunter: World look no further, Capcom put out a lengthy video feature showing off Monster Hunter: World from the very beginning. The video shows everything from the opening cutscene to character creation and even a bit of the beginning area, it’s all good stuff.

The immediate prominent feature is the in-depth character creation that has gone into Monster Hunter: World. Instead of the stiff faces of past, the customization well is deep and every little detail that goes into the player character will be prominently featured in full during cutscenes. Players will also be able to customize their Palico Partner which might be the best part… honestly.

As quickly as a character is made the beginning of the game starts up introducing the hunter’s handler before things get shaken up, showing off a titan of a monster called the Zora Magduros. This looks to serve as the tutorial portion of the game, showing off movement to new players or those putting their hunting boots back on for the first time in a while. Eventually the scene takes players to the island where the player will start their journey.

Players arriving as part of the 5th Fleet, and some of the ships that have arrived before can be seen in the village. Are these victims of the Zora Magduros as well, or other things more sinister?

From there the player hunter and their handler set out on their adventure. Handler’s will play a big portion in Monster Hunter: World being consistently paired with the Hunter. The video continues with exploration mode, unlike other Monster Hunter’s the player does not have to pick out specific quest, meaning the game is completely free roam. Which also means the first thing the Hunter does in the video is, of course… go fishing.

The video feature continues with more hunter play and anyone familiar with Monster Hunter will be able to spot every detail that has gone into this game. Don’t take my word for it though and see all the glorious monster hunting the video below and be sure to check out the new trailer as well if it slipped by the wayside.

Monster Hunter: World arrives January 26 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
