[Update] Despite being advertised as launching April 8 on Android, Mortal Kombat X Mobile has yet to appear on the Google Play Store. We are currently waiting on word from Warner Bros. as to why the Android version has been delayed. The game is, however, currently available on the Apple App Store.

[Original] The mobile companion game for Mortal Kombat X is available for download now on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Mortal Kombat X Mobile is free for download, and is so much more than just a companion app.

Mortal Kombat X Mobile is essentially the full Mortal Kombat X experience shrunk down to fit on mobile devices. It's not as pretty, but the fundamentals are still there. Similar to Injustice: Gods Among Us Mobile, players create a party of three fighters and fight a ladder of progressively tougher parties. You'll tap once for a quick attack, swipe for a heavy attack and hold two fingers down to block. You'll also be able to execute those sweet X-Ray moves, and wickedly cruel fatalities.

Owners of Mortal Kombat X on PS4, Xbox One, and PC have the most to gain from downloading Mortal Kombat X Mobile. In addition to the persistent Faction Wars score, console owners will be able to unlock new skins and earn rewards on Mobile that will then be transferred to the console game. Whether it be something simple like Koins, or Johnny Cage's 'Ninja Mime' costume, there's always something new to unlock in Mortal Kombat X Mobile for Mortal Kombat X.

Go check out Mortal Kombat X Mobile now as you wait for Mortal Kombat X, which is out April 14.
