Bandai Namco have taken to the 2016 PlayStation Press Conference in Japan and announced a new Gundam Vs. game - Gundam Versus. The Gundam Vs. series has been a long-running mecha, 2-on-2 fighting game series featuring various machines from the world famous Mobile Suit Gundam anime and manga franchise. To celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the Gundam Vs. franchise, Bandai Namco have announced Gundam Versus - a new high-quality, modern game entry in the series for PlayStation 4. Fans of the mostly Japan-only fighting game series may have lamented that the last major addition to the series - Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxi Boost - was restricted to arcades only, effectively skipping a console port unlike many of its predecessors. Nevertheless, Western fans were able to get a taste of the series with the recent Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Force. Bandai Namco are playing it safe with this announcement video, showing off fan-favorites like the new series poster boy: the ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos, along with old favorites like the GN-001 Gundam Exia, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, the newly-featured FA-78 Full Armor Gundam, and of course the original RX-78-2 Gundam that started it all.

See the announcement video below. No more details yet, Gundam Versus is headed for PlayStation 4 in Japan.
