New Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars Trailer Highlights Level Creation and Sharing

Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars released on both 3DS and Wii U last week to relatively little fanfare, but a new trailer released today shows Nintendo is intent on pushing hardware owners to give the experimental game a shot. Tipping Stars is immediately notable because it marks Nintendo’s first foray into the realm of cross-buy, giving those who buy the 3DS version a free copy of its Wii U sibling and vice versa. However, the game is also intriguing because of its unique level creation and sharing infrastructure, a point which this latest trailer makes a point to emphasize.

Like past Mario vs Donkey Kong games, Tipping Stars lets players create their own levels and share them with each other over WiFi. However, players can now also tip other users with their own hard-earned stars if they enjoy a particular level. As level creators amass more stars, they gain access to a greater variety of tiles and tools to construct their levels, which means you can effectively fund the creativity of your favorite level designers.

Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is available now on both the 3DS and Wii U eShops for $19.99. You can check out the latest trailer below:
