Coming off the mixed reception of last year’s Spike Lee-directed plot, NBA 2K17 is continuing to bring celebrities to its RPG-esque MyCAREER mode.
This year, the player’s customizable character will be referred to as the “President of Basketball”, as he attempts to rise through the ranks and become an NBA superstar. Choices will play a larger role in this year’s narrative, with improvements being made to how one’s journey is affected both on and off the court. 2K17’s MyCareer mode will feature a star-studded cast as well, as seen in the trailer below, including Michael B. Jordan as Young Justice, a close friend and teammate with whom you form the tandem known as “Orange Juice”, Hannibal Buress as the protagonist’s barber, and Matt Walsh as the player’s college coach. With plenty more promised within the full experience, gamers who desire more story from their sports games will continue to favor NBA 2K17’s commitment to plots.
With a free demo for NBA 2K17’s MyCAREER mode known as The Prelude launching on Friday, basketball fans won’t have to wait much longer with the full product arriving on September 20 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
