Anyone looking forward to playing the whimsical looking Ni No Kuni II will now have to wait a bit longer, with the game being delayed until January 19, 2018.

Ni No Kuni II was set to launch this November. In a video message for fans, Level-5’s Akihiro Hino explains the delay is for tightening up game quality. Level-5 wanting to give the best Ni No Kuni experience fans can expect from the studio.

This also gives breathing room for Ni No Kuni 2, with the back end of 2017 being heavily bogged down by titles. This should help the game in the long run so it won’t get overshadowed like so many games did this spring.
