Oxenfree was a notable hit for California-based indie developers Night School Studio, delivering a unique and surreal adventure about teenagers accidentally coming across the link to a mysterious dimension with some of the sharpest writing of the year. And now the team has unveiled the first trailer for Afterparty, their follow-up to Oxenfree, and how could they possibly top their amazing debut? Why, by having you engage in a drinking contest with Satan, of course!

The game follows the story of Milo and Lola, two best friends who have recently died and suddenly find themselves in Hell. However, when a loophole reveals that they can gain entry back to Earth by beating Satan in a drinking contest, they'll go on one of the most epic benders possible in order to end up impressing enough people to get to Lucifer himself, and maybe even learn why they're in Hell to begin with in the process.

As seen in the teaser below, the game will sport gameplay and a dialogue system similar to that of Oxenfree, with the twist of different cocktails that can alter your mood and speech options. The islands of Hell are also quite colorful and stylish, befitting a giant party, but Milo and Lola's actions can actually have notable consequences for them. Afterparty is due out in 2019, and it looks like it may indeed be a spectacular sophomore effort worth the wait.
