May is here, and with it we're finally on the horizon of Splatoon's release on Wii U. Nintendo's newest IP looks immensely promising, marrying the competitive multiplayer shooter mechanics that have grabbed the industry in recent years with the color, charm, and design only the acclaimed Japanese company seems capable of producing.

Splatoon's flagship mode, Turf War, pits two teams of four players against each other in a battle to see who can paint more of the arena with their shade of ink.
