Red Barrel Games have today officially announced Outlast II -- the sequel to the acclaimed 2014 survival horror -- promising that the follow-up will be a 'twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets' and will be available sometime in fall of 2016 though no specific date has been given yet. Alongside the announcement, the developer have also offered up an official non-gameplay teaser as to the themes we might expect to find, upside down crosses and all. Check it out below.

'No conflict is ever black and white,' the developer stated in its press release, 'but once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong. Who is good and who is evil. Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith. OUTLAST 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do.' Outlast II will be released across PS4, Xbox One and PC/Mac.
