E3 has come and gone with no signs of any Pokémon news for hopeful fans. However, a new announcement on the upcoming Pokémon Unite were revealed. While it may not be instantly on everybody's radar it's probably going to gain a following of dedicated players.

Pokémon Unite is coming to the Nintendo Switch in July and has plans to hit mobile devices starting September 2021 and is cross-play compatible. Unite is an arena battle game featuring 5-v-5 action. On Aeos Island, players will use their teams and compete against each other to see who can score the most points before time runs out.  Tailor your Pokémon to fit specific roles such as Attacker, Defender, Speedster, Supporter or All-Rounder. Weaknesses and strengths aren't a thing here like in mainline games so prepare to focus on new strategies.

Fans were iffy when Unite was first announced but viewing new video footage shows it has potential to become quite popular. Interesting techniques such as blocking opponent's advancements, powering up while on the field and even getting to dress up in fun outfits will all appeal to Pokémon's wide audience. Check out the official press release and watch both videos below for a better look at the action.
