Well this is a surprise. GungHo Online's incredibly popular mobile game Puzzle and Dragon will be crossing over with Super Mario Bros. for the 3DS-exclusive Puzzle and Dragon: Super Mario Bros. Edition. The game trades the traditional Puzzle and Dragons runes for more familiar Mario items like fire flowers and stars, and also looks to throw in a familiar overworld map and enemies from the Mario universe.

A trailer for the game was also released, revealing that fans in Japan can look forward to grabbing the 3DS game on the eShop and at retail on April 29. Check out the trailer below for a look at what this unexpected crossover has in store:
