VR developer Survios has announced that their flagship title Raw Data is coming to Oculus Rift.

Raw Data, the impressive VR first-person shooter, launched on HTC Vive via Steam Early Access last year. It was the first VR title to top the global Steam Charts and generate $1 million in sales in one month, and will soon come to Oculus Rift. Developer Survios made the announcement during GDC 2017, confirming support for the platform will be arriving as part of a large upcoming content expansion. On top of this, Survios confirmed that the update will add cross-platform multiplayer compatibility, which will allow Vive and Oculus players to game together.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Oculus player community to Raw Data,” said James Iliff, Survios Chief Creative Officer and co-founder. “With VR still a young, niche industry, it’s crucial right now for the entire community to be united regardless of platform. We believe VR is ultimately going to be a platform-agnostic medium, and we’re showing our support for that shift with Raw Data’s new, cross-platform compatibility—and that’s just the beginning. We’re going to do everything we can to create content for the entire VR community.”

Raw Data on Oculus Rift has been optimize and re-engineered to work specifically with the Oculus Touch motion controllers, which are different from the Vive motion controllers. Thanks to all this extra work, Oculus players will be able to enjoy the full Raw Data experience.

Of course, Oculus support isn't the only thing coming in the content expansion. Survios have retooled two of the three playable heroes, Saija and Boss, in response to player feedback. Both are getting powerful new abilities and extensive reworks, which will be beneficial when tackling the brand new mission, Cataclysm. In Cataclysm, players will descend to new depths of terror within Eden Corp's mysterious Data Chamber. Stuck on a moving elevator, players must defend themselves against waves of deadly enemies.

Raw Data is available now on Steam via Early Access for HTC Vive. No date yet for Oculus Rift support, but we'll let you know the moment its announced. For those attending GDC 2017, the game will be playable on the Oculus Rift at the Survios booth.
