Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is full of interesting characters so it makes sense Bandai Namco would want to showcase them before the game's release. That's exactly what they've been doing and they've just released the trailer for Roland. The president from another world, Roland is mysteriously transported to Ni no Kuni where he meets Evan, the new king of Ding Dong Dell, who he decides to mentor and protect.
