Sceptile Joins the Roster in Pokkén Tournament

Last week we received a bit of a clue as which new Pokémon will be joining the fight. Sceptile, the Grass-type starter Pokémon from the Johto region, is the latest challenger to be added to Pokkén Tournament. And it’s looking to send opponents to greener pastures.

In its debut trailer, you’ll notice how amazingly nimble and quick Sceptile can be. It should be of no surprise since its highest statistic in the regular Pokémon series is speed. Sceptile is even capable of hovering in the air to avoid an enemy’s hit. It uses its feet, claws and tail to deliver physically punishing moves while launching Leech Seed, Seed Bomb and Leaf Blade attacks. Mega Evolving is another thing Sceptile can do and it won’t end well for its opponent.

Along with a new fighter comes a couple of support Pokémon. Farfetch’d and Electrode can pop in to knock around your foe. With Sceptile now on the roster and Blaziken already revealed, it should feel like an obligation to include Swampert, eventually. Until then, check out Sceptile’s debut trailer below and wait for Pokkén Tournament to arrive on Wii U this Spring.
