On the 25th anniversary of the Sid Meier's Civilization series, 2K and Firaxis Games have announced Sid Meier's CIVILIZATION VI, the newest entry in the acclaimed, long-running turn-based strategy game franchise. For the past 25 years, the Civilization games have been the popular choice for players looking for a long-term gaming experience centering on the development of a people, a culture, technology, and of course, conflict.

CIVILIZATION VI features improved, much-needed tutorials for newcomers and boasts spanning cities, where a player's empire can cover multiple tiles on the map, per city. Research and development of more advanced structures for a civilization have been improved with unlockable boosts that can speed up the waiting game. Likewise, the diplomacy aspect of the game, where players interact with the leaders of other civilizations, includes dynamically changing behavior from enemies and allies alike over the course of a game. When conflict does rise, offensive units can now be combined to form corps, which is advantageous as only one tile is typically allotted per unit. Additionally, multiplayer now adds more cooperative and competitive opportunities over the traditional multiplayer offerings.
