Well, it looks like this is going to be a big Summer for Toronto-based developers Mighty Yell. Not only is their adventure game The Big Con one of the official selections to compete for the first-ever Tribeca Games Award, but the team has also joined up with Skybound Games, who will help publish the game this season as well. Set in the 1990s, the game follows a teenage con artist named Ali as they head out on a journey that's already impressed us once, so hopefully the full trip is worth checking out.

The Big Con, as its name may imply, is all about helping Ali con people over and make money via any way possible, be it grifting, picking pockets, dealing in-demand toys, and more, all in order to save their mom's video store from a pair of loan sharks. As seen in the trailer below, that means having to solve puzzles, don disguises, and even attempt a mini-game or two, among other things. It's an open-ended cross-country adventure with several intriguing people to meet and solutions to uncover that can either help them or mess them up, and it should also provide a hefty dose of nostalgia to boot. The Big Con comes out later this Summer for PC and Xbox, and we'll see how it does in the coming months.
