It's been a long time coming but it's finally been confirmed that the final evolutions of the starter Pokémon were those of the supposed rumor revealed months ago. While it would have been nice if someone hadn't spoiled us all, this is still pretty exciting. Sun and Moon's latest trailer reveals the final forms, more island guardians, and other Pokémon.

Decidueye is Rowlet's evolution and completely sheds its Flying typing. Instead it becomes a Grass/Ghost-type. This Pokémon is based on an archer and uses its feathers and leaves as arrows. Decidueye has a brand new move called Spirit Shackle which will prevent opponents from fleeing or switching out. Litten turns into Incineroar, a wrestling-based Pokémon. Thankfully it is not Fighting (like we all feared) and becomes a Fire/Dark-type. It uses Darkest Lariat to inflict major damage while ignoring stat changes. Then, there is Primarina, Popplio's final form. This Pokémon is a Water/Fairy-type siren who uses Sparkling Aria to heal burns of any target.

We have also been introduced to the remaining Island Guardians. Tapu Lele is a Psychic/Fairy-type and guards Akala Island. It has Psychic Surge which prevents priority attacks from working. Ula'ula Island's guardian is Tapu Bulu, a Grass/Fairy-type. Its Grassy Surge ability powers up Grass-type moves for all Pokémon on the field while halving the damage done by certain Ground attacks. Lastly is Tapu Fini, a Water/Fairy-type. It has Misty Surge which halves the power of Dragon-type moves to those on the ground and prevents status conditions. All of the deities have a unique Z-Move called Guardian of Alola which brings about a sentient body to pound opponents with devastating force.

Next up, we are introduced to a brand new Pokémon called Cosmog, the Nebula Pokémon. This little thing is precious and seems to follow you around after protecting it from wild Pokémon. It is a Psychic-type with the Unaware ability. It seems a bit fragile now but will hopefully become a powerful member of your team. Finally, Alolan Persian has also been revealed. It has the Fur Coat and Technician abilities. Though it appears to be from some other cartoon, Persian might come in handy during battle.

The trailer ends with a bit of nostalgia for us to enjoy. Champions and trainers from previous games make an appearance and will test your skills. Team up or battle against Wally from Ruby and Sapphire, Cynthia from the Diamond and Pearl series as well as Red and Blue from the original games. Since there is currently no Pokémon League to participate in, it seems these previous champions have arrived to help build a new facility in Alola.

There is less than a month left until Pokémon Sun and Moon releases. This journey is shaping up to be even more than an adventure! Check out the English and Japanese trailers below to get all the details of what's to come.
