Making is debut just over four months ago, Steven Universe: Save The Light looked to be a grand successor to the mobile RPG based on the hit Cartoon Network series, especially for those who wanted another new game in the vein of the Paper Mario series as well. Things have gone silent for a while since then, but today at San Diego Comic-Con, Cartoon Network showed off a new trailer that provided an even deeper look at the game, including the inclusion of fan-favorite gem Peridot as one of the game's playable characters (we still have one character reveal left to go, so don't worry, Lapis fans), the use of fusions such as Stevonnie, Opal, and Sardonyx in battle, and even the inclusion of a new game-exclusive gem, an evil Peridot nicknamed Squaridot.

According to the game's description, Squaridot is an ally of the game's yet-to-be revealed main villain, and guards the Great North for them. And yes, this seems to suggest that the developers took one of the show's memes and made it into a reality. The rest of the trailer shows off the game's vibrant art style quite nicely, and provides more detailed glimpses at the game's battle system, showing just how developers Grumpyface have really amplified things since Attack The Light, making the gameplay even deeper. Steven Universe: Save The Light is expected to hit the PS4 and XB1 this Fall, so fans had best keep an eye out for it then.
