Nobody is disputing that Super Mario Maker is a special game, and why would they? It’s the kind of game that makes dreams into realities, welcoming creative combinations and re-purposing of familiar Mario elements into entirely original levels. The game has only been available for a few days, but today Nintendo has announced a Super Smash Bros. stage inspired by the Wii U title will be available before the end of the month.
True to the creative and unpredictable nature of Super Mario Maker, the new stage will be randomly constructed before players’ eyes as the match begins, with an undisclosed number of variations. Super Mario Maker players will be quite familiar with the on-screen hand that displays on the television while you’re creating levels, and that feature that will carry over into the Smash stage as well, fixing broken bricks while the fight rages on. It promises to be zany, exciting, and a terrific addition to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, and we’ll be grabbing it as soon as it’s available on September 30.
