Today's Nintendo Direct had quite a few exciting announcements, but the one that will likely generate the most excitement among fans was saved until the very end of the presentation. What started out as something that looked like another Splatoon announcement quickly revealed itself as a full on teaser for the next Super Smash Bros. At first glance, this looks like a teaser for the expected Switch port of Super Smash Bros. 4. Upon closer inspection however, it seems that the video is actually teasing a completely new Super Smash Bros game for the Switch.

As Nintendo Switch Super Smash Bros. (working title) has only just been announced, the only info available for the game consists of what little can be gleaned from the teaser. It can be assumed that the Inklings will be included since the teaser focused on them so heavily. Mario, Link (probably the Breath of the Wild version), and Bowser could also be seen silhouetted against the Super Smash Bros. symbol.

It also seems that the series' original developer, HAL Laboratories might also back in the picture. The developer, who hasn't been involved in a Smash Bros. game since 2001's Super Smash Bros. Melee, can be seen mentioned in small print at the end of the video.
