After being originally slated for a Summer 2014 release, Dying Light was delayed until February 2015 to fine tune mechanics such as this, so they are certainly putting a lot of stock into the mechanic. But the game also adds several new features they show off in this diary, such as the day and night cycle, where zombies become nearly impossible to fight during the night.
