After a successful Kickstarter campaign and launch on Xbox One and PC, The Molasses Flood’s first title, roguelike survival The Flame in the Flood, has arrived on PS4 with a “Complete Edition”, which sports a handful of new features and bonuses.

The Flame in the Flood puts the player’s wilderness survival skills to the test, as they help a girl and her dog travel through a post-societal world and the dangerous, procedurally generated river that runs through it. With both a Story Mode and Endless Mode, players must scrounge for resources in order to evade starvation, dehydration, and perilous wildlife, amongst other hazards. The Flame in the Flood features a unique art style and boasts a soundtrack which includes pieces from Chuck Ragan, The Camaraderie, and The Fearless Kin.

Those looking to pick it up on PS4 will receive a few extra benefits for either purchasing the game again or giving it a shot for the first time. In addition to free Avatars and a Dynamic Theme, the Complete Edition also grants access to the game’s Director’s Commentary, which was teased yesterday in the trailer above. The core experience has also received new gameplay enhancements, adding additional incentive for players to check out or revisit the harsh wildlands.

The launch trailer for The Flame in the Flood: Complete Edition can be viewed below, heralding the game’s release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. For more on the game, check out Hardcore Gamer’s review, which describes it as “simultaneously charming and terrifying”.
